I have the chance to teach as the visual arts teacher at Weymouth High School in Weymouth, Massachusetts. I had the pleasure of teaching half and full-year courses that range in various media and materials. Furthermore, I gain more experience and growth teaching Advanced Placement 2D Design and Art, Digital Photography, 35mm Film Photography, Graphic Design, Painting & Drawing, Yearbook, and the club advisor to yearbook too. Moreover, I gain experience in the various functions of public school, working in a larger demographic with varied needs that ranged from social, emotional, behavioral, or physical differences of diverse learners in the art classroom. I gained knowledge and familiarity working with the various level of administration, staff, other faculty, along with working and being part of the art department. I have experience in co-teaching and teaching similar or like courses. For example, I co-taught vocational graphic design courses. I engaged consistently with the school’s community through various school events ranging from art shows & concerts, yearbook distribution, back to school nights, orientation, scholar wall, theater shows, open mic, unplugged, and to sports games. I worked towards my professional teaching status in the public setting through Weymouth’s mentor program while working on completing my master’s degree, which helped me achieve professional status on my art teaching licenses this year.
