Notre Dame Academy June 2015 to June 2018
Notre Dame Academy (NDA) is an all-girl catholic school of 450 young women in grades seven through twelve from the surrounding area of Hingham, MA. I worked at NDA from June 2015 to June 2018.
I taught grades seven through twelve in half and full year art courses. The high school courses are Advanced Placement Drawing and 2D, Studio Art, Foundation Studio, Ceramics and 3D Design, Ceramics 1, Digital Photography 1, Painting, and Drawing Studio. The middle school courses are Art 7 and Art 8 and run for full. Also, I was responsible for maintaining the Laura Guidoboni Gallery where I had incorporated the National Art Honor Society students to curate and exhibit art shows to the NDA community. Finally, I was the adviser for the National Art Honor Society and Yearbook way to participate further.
he National Art Honor Society members play an active role in the curating art shows and gallery exhibitions at Notre Dame Academy. Through my lead, I share with students the tips and tricks to installing and uninstalling the art shows and gallery exhibitions. There are two art shows each year towards the end of the semesters. There are three gallery exhibitions in the Laura Guidoboni Gallery. In this gallery student learn about the formal etiquette to curating a successful show. Some example are developing a theme based on a body of work by various artist, a title, wall description, name tags, handling artwork, framing, hanging, and safety procedures. Finally, by involving the students they are learning a vital part of the community in and out of school.
