June 2014 to June 2015

I had the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant and part art teacher at the Brandon School and Residential Treatment Center for boys with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The classroom environment was challenging. Still, it provided me the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of behavior management skills, an awareness of how to help students who struggle with learning disabilities, and how to address different student’s skills while engaging them in art. I was able to demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of the individual student and classroom.
